There will be a Holiday Remembrance Service at Oakdale Mortuary on Thursday, December 14 at 6:00PM. Remembering loved ones at the holidays can be difficult. Join with others in the community for this time of reflection and remembrance.

Christmas Lights in Glendora
Meet at the church on Saturday, December 16 at 6:30 pm as we caravan around town and together “be amazed” at Christmas light displays in Glendora.

Christmas Caroling
At 2:00PM on Sunday, December 17 we will meet at the church at to go Christmas Caroling! Dress in your festive holiday attire and join in taking holiday cheer to some of our homebound members.

Christmas Eve at FCCG
We will have our 4th Sunday in Advent for Sunday Morning Service on December 24 at 10:30 AM. Also later on, join us at 11:00PM for our Christmas Eve Candlelight & Communion Service where “We Make Room” Luke 2:1-20.

Bibles & Brews (and more) Returning in 2024!
Join us for the return of Bibles & Brews in 2024. Not only will we be meeting to discuss scripture over your favorite ale, but also in 2024 we will be having a chance to “Wine About Scripture” as we meet at a wine tasting room. Empty Cups
Friday, November 3, 2023, 5:00 pm – 7:00 pm at Classic Coffee in the Glendora Village. A $15 donation gets you a ceramic cup and a hot beverage. Proceeds benefit Sheppard’s Pantry, St. Vincent de Paul, and Glendora PD vouchers.

Halloween Walk in the Village

On Tuesday, October 31, 10 a.m. – 2 p.m., we will be participating in the Halloween Walk in the Village. If you would like to donate candy, or donate your time to help out, please see the sign-up sheet in the narthex.

Join Us In Delivering Treats!
On Sunday, October 29, 2023, we will meet at the church at 3 p.m. to go reverse “trick or treating” to some of our homebound members. Come dressed in your “Halloween attire” and join us for fun and service to others. We will conclude out time by returning to the church (approximately 5 p.m.) to share a potluck of your favorite “spooky” treat and have a costume contest.

Tour of LA Central Library
On Monday, September 25, 2023, we will meet at the church at 8:30 am and carpool to the APU / Citrus College Station in Azusa. We will take the train to Union Station and connect to our destination. More details will be provided after you RSVP. Call the Office or email to RSVP:

On Saturday, September 16, 2023 from 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM, FCCG will have a Yard Sale. Come on down and check out our Pianos and other assorted furniture that we need to sell to make space for bigger and better things. FREE “Hands-Only CPR” Training
There will be FREE “Hands-Only CPR” training offered by the Dept. of Public Health on Wednesday, September 6, 2023 at 11:00 am at FCCG, 300 N Glendora Ave, Glendora.
“Studies show that Hands-Only CPR increases the survival rate of a person in a cardiac arrest emergency. People who receive CPR from family, friends, neighbors, or bystanders while waiting for emergency personnel to arrive are twice as likely to survive as those who do not.
During this training, you will learn the skills needed to conduct HOCPR, including practicing chest compressions. Please join in our efforts to prepare and train our community in HOCPR.”

Empty Bowls…..Fighting Hunger One Bowl At a Time
The 20th annual Empty Bowls Benefit will take place on March 10, 2023, 5 – 7 p.m. at First Christian Church, 300 N. Glendora Ave. For the $20 ticket price, individuals will receive a delicious bowl of soup and bread donated by local restaurants, and they will go home with a beautiful handmade ceramic bowl and the satisfaction that they are helping to fight hunger one bowl at a time. The Citrus College Ceramics department, the Tri Community Adult Education’s “Pioneer Potters, and several local ceramic artists have donated hundreds of handmade bowls to the event, allowing for wide selection and variety. Several service groups will come together, including Glendora police Auxiliary and Explorers, Kohl’s and Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints youth, to support the First Christian Church Empty Bowls project. Proceeds will benefit food assistance programs administered by Shepherd’s Pantry, St. Vincent de Paul Society and the Glendora Police Department.


Public Art Launch Event at First Christian Church
Join us this Friday, March 3 at 10 am for the Ribbon Cutting and Launch of our Public Art installation at 300 N. Glendora Ave. Beginning Friday through April 9, local artists will be creating a mural on our church building. Ash Wednesday – Drive Thru and Evening Service to Receive Ashes
FCCG is joining with the United Methodist Church once again to mark Ash Wednesday and we will be providing two opportunities for you to receive the imposition of ashes. On Wednesday, February 22 between 7:30 – 8:30 a.m., you can drive thru or walk into the United Methodist parking lot, 201 E. Bennett Ave., for a blessing and the imposition of ashes. On the evening of February 22, we invite you to join us for an Ash Wednesday service in the First Christian Church sanctuary, 300 N. Glendora Ave., at 7 p.m. If you have questions, please contact Pastor Karen.
Souper Bowl of Caring
The “Souper Bowl of Caring” is an annual event that is national in scope, yet local in impact. You are invited to join us in helping the families and people of our area who need food assistance. From now until the weekend of the big game (February 12), we will gather monetary donations and canned and nonperishable food items for those who are in need. All donations given will then be used to help stock the shelves at the Shepherd’s Pantry in Glendora. Monetary donations can be mailed to FCCG/Souper Bowl, 300 N. Glendora Ave., Glendora, CA 91741. Nonperishable food items (especially needed are pasta and macaroni and cheese) can be dropped off Sunday mornings at the church, or call 626.335.2240 for additional times. Holiday Music and Open House
Join us Friday December 16 at 7 p.m. for singing holiday music and an Open House of artwork from the Art Academy students. Plan to celebrate the season and recognize the accomplishments of the students. A special “jolly” guest is also planning to visit. Be sure to join in the fun.

Christmas Caroling
Join us December 18 at 3pm as we meet at the church to go Christmas caroling to some of our homebound members. Wear your favorite Christmas sweater and help share holiday cheer. All ages and singing abilities welcome! We will meet back at the church at 5 p.m. following caroling for some light refreshments.

FCCG Train Show
On November 18, 6 – 9 p.m., the annual Glendora Holiday Stroll & FCCG Train Show will be taking place. Volunteers are needed to help with hosting the train show indoors and the outdoor train ride. Please contact Pastor Karen if you available to assist.
